Open Question: Impossible to access Ymail account mailbox?

Hi,
If you do a search in the questions, you'll see that I'm not alone with this issue:

I recently signed up for a Ymail account. However it is simply impossible to access it. When I log in to mail.yahoo.com, using my FULL email address, it redirects me to a Yahoo Mail Setup page (http://edit.yahoo.com/config/init_mail?.src=ym&.intl=&.partner=&.done=https%3a//login.yahoo.com/config/mail) ; where I'm prompted to choose between Free, Plus, or Personal.

Clicking on 'Create Free Account', the page simply times out, or reloads, or brings me to the public profile edit page, randomly. It's been more than two weeks and the problem isn't solved.

What is wrong with Ymail accounts? How can we access our mailboxes?

*Submitting the issue to Yahoo, here was their reply:
To activate your account:

1. Sign In using your Yahoo! ID and password.
2. Enter your first and last name.
3. Type the word displayed in the box provided.
4. Click "Set me up."

No url no nothing. Stops after step 1.

*Oddly, I can access to the account info page which says :
Yahoo! ID: tomakun@ymail.com
Yahoo! Mail Address: Sign Up Now!

Now clicking on signup now just brings me back to Yahoo Mail setup Page I was mentionning at the beginning, that just doesn't work.

Someone at Yahoo please do something. We can't access our Ymail mailboxes!! >> full story
