Open Question: Whats the difference between an Ipod and an MP3 player?

I just got the Ipod shuffle, and followed instructions to download I-tunes and after that, i plugged the cable to the USB drive , then the shuffle to the dock. After that, it popped up a bubble saying that the 'USB device is not recognized..' and that windows cannot find it, and it has malfunctioned. !!! I have done everything including uninstalling the driver and installing it , uninstalling/reinstalling i tunes, plugging the dock and usb cable in and out. NOTHING to avail...it keeps popping up the same message. Whereas when I try to put in other things to the port it works out fine. Can someone pleaseee help me??!?!! I will definently be grateful! my ipod nano is tottaly frozen ... i dont know what to do, so how do i fix it ???' I can't get it to show up on the IPOD itself after it upadates itself...no matter where I put the show for instance say I wanted to put The Producers (which I own as a DVD) on my IPOD...is that possible? how can i make money fast or get free things like an ipod online. i'm really desperate now becuz of the season and not only that my parents say that i have to go to a different highskool cuz they wasted all there money on buying land and crap. i need a fast money thingy so i can atleast pay $50 a month. that's the only way i get to stay at my highskool. i dont mean to whine but kan sum1 help me find a money site??? the new one that clips onto you and in the commerical they keep changing shirts I found tons of rebates and free music on these sites Evdplanet.com
