I've been trying to get back in to dating after being alone for 14 years. My last family member died a few years ago and I have problems with women wanting to date me because I had lost so much.
Now that I've gained a ton of hobbies and am making more money I figured since I've finished renovating my house, I'll try to get a girlfriend and see what happens. Well you meet these girls at church or at volunteer groups and none of them seem to do anything outside that. They just go to bars and get drunk. They want to put on too much makeup and stay drunk in all their free time. None of them want to go build something, hike somewhere, go overseas and see things you wouldn't see at home, play music, experiment cooking or whatever you can think of that is different. They just want to go out from bar to bar to bar with a digital camera just taking pictures of them and the 2 or 3 other friends they are with as they get drunker and drunker.
What's the point in dating when girls act like this? I was always told that when women get around 27, 28, 29 even 35 they would get better and not be as shallow. Why waste life this way? Why not go out and do something and be proud or amazed at what you've done or seen. I don't understand.
The point I'm trying to make is, when I go to other places there are no girls there. When I go to the library there are no single girls there. They don't want to be bothered by some guy trying to pick them up.
When you are at the supermarket there are no girls there that want to be bothered by some guy wanting to ask them out.
When you go to some volunteer meetings, all the girls there aren't single and if they are they are already flirting with some other guy that is single and there. If you are lucky and meet the one girl that is single when ever you get done either hiking or building a house or taking food to the poor. She wants to hit the bars and get drunk. Heck most of these people bring beer when they are doing stuff in the groups. I've tried libraries before, girls there appently don't want a guy to talk to them, although I've been told by a lot of women that a good place to meet girls is the library. The same goes for book stores as well. When you try to strike up a conversation when a girl in a book store she acts like you've spit in her face and will do or say anything to make you go away.
There is no where else to go...

well I don't know much about electronics but I am looking for something that my fiance can enjoy on his deployment he loves taking pictures and videos but his digital camera recently broke and I thought it would be nice to get him something that has the same functions as a digital but can take good quality videos for him to enjoy. here are a few links i would really love opinions on people with more experience with electronics.

photo quality has no say in the winner... I know some people can't afford super amazing digital camera. so just because your pic doesn't look like it belongs in a magazine doesn't mean it can't win. just as long as I can see the betta it will be considered.

I want to get a JVC everio digital camcorder and among other uses want to use it as a webcam so i can have better quality audio/video. Many places i have searched say that firewire is the best way to make this connection. These places also say i would need some sort of driver downloaded.
The first question i want to know is how do i know my computer has firewire and how do i use it? I have a dell inspiron 1720.
The second question i guess is what is some advice on using a camcorder as a webcam?
