We Are The Fury

by Aimee Curran
Age: 29

Barely scratching the surface of their early ‘20s, Toledo Ohio’s We Are The Fury is taking their flair of ‘70s glam and post-punk flavor to reinvent today’s beaten music scene. Coming off promotion of their well-received early 2006 EP release Infinite Jest the five-some: brothers: singer Jeremy Lublin and drummer Stephan Lublin, guitarist Christopher Hatfield, bassist Alan Hoffar and keyboardist Todd Wehrle have managed to move small mountains in a short amount of time. Gaining a strong following through tours with Head Automatica, Nightmare of You, and the Take Action Tour with Matchbook Romance, its no question why among their many accomplishments, they have been featured on MTV’s You Hear It First, spin.com, Entertainment Weekly and broadcast on radio stations coast to coast.

Intoxicating fans with their eclectic combinations of theatrically engineered melodies and rock laden bass and guitar, the band proves that attacking music with guiltless, reckless abandon can in fact create likeable material suited for the storm of mainstream dance rock taking over today’s bland music scene.

Entering the studio to record their first full length “Venus” the band used their natural musical instincts to blend together a series of infectious stand out tracks produced by Tim Patalan (Lovedrug, Sponge, The Fags), Daryl Palumbo (Singer of Head Automatica/ Glassjaw), and Mark Hoppus (Singer of Blink 182). Their mastered collection of bouncing keyboards and head bopping guitar riffs are what the musical wet dreams of pubescent show goers are made of.

Tapping into a growing market of dance happy kids “Venus” has an engaging, unabashed, jazzy new wave charm that will coax fun out of the most sullen faced teen brat. Unhinged vocals and rampaging distortion run amok the classic ‘70s influenced tunes which are sure to be simmering in speakers nationwide and beyond.
